Home visit requests

Request a home safety visitJust how safe is your home? Your local Fire & Rescue Service will be able to visit your home and carry out an inspection to help you identify potential fire risks and know what to do to reduce or prevent them. Request a firesetter advisor visitChildren are often curious about fire and flames. Some can become obsessed to the point of putting lives in danger - theirs and other people's. If you have any concerns you can request assistance from your local Fire & Rescue Service here.

Request a school visitThe Fire & Rescue Services are committed to working in partnership with schools to raise the awareness of home fire safety. Many have formed partnerships with local education authorities to develop awareness programmes concerning the overall education of children in becoming "safer citizens". Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order compliance
Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) self-assessment
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 introduces significant change. As well as simplifying current legislation, it introduces the need for employers, building owners and occupiers to have a greater understanding of fire safety and nominate a "responsible person" to ensure compliance. Fireworks / explosives licence

Fireworks/explosives licenceSome Fire & Rescue Services will be able to process applications for the storage of explosives that do not require an explosives certificate e.g. fireworks, seatbelt tensioners and other pyrotechnic substances. Petroleum licence

Petroleum licence Some Fire & Rescue Services are able to process applications for the storage and dispensing of petrol and LNG (liquid methane). Please note that a fee will be charged for the issue of a petroleum licence. You can find out more and apply for a licence online here.
